Feynman Diagrams and Differential Equations

چکیده
We review in a pedagogical way the method of differential equations for the evaluation of D-dimensionally regulated Feynman integrals. After dealing with the general features of the technique, we discuss its application in the context of oneand two-loop corrections to the photon propagator in QED, by computing the Vacuum Polarization tensor exactly in D. Finally, we treat two cases of less trivial differential equations, respectively associated to a two-loop three-point, and a four-loop two-point integral. These two examples are the playgrounds for showing more technical aspects about: Laurent expansion of the differential equations in D (around D=4); the choice of the boundary conditions; and the link among differential and difference equations for Feynman integrals.

Scattering equations and Feynman diagrams
We show a direct matching between individual Feynman diagrams and integration measures in the scattering equation formalism of Cachazo, He and Yuan. The connection is most easily explained in terms of triangular graphs associated with planar Feynman diagrams in φ3-theory. We also discuss the generalization to general scalar field theories with φp interactions, corresponding to polygonal graphs ...
متن کاملCalculating Transition Amplitudes from Feynman Diagrams
When one thinks of quantum field theory, one’s mind is undoubtedly drawn to Feynman diagrams. The näıve view these diagrams as merely a concise and standardized way of describing collisions and processes. Feynman diagrams, however, encode a great deal of information, for each one corresponds exactly to the probability amplitude of the transition it describes. In other words, it is easily possib...
متن کاملA walk on sunset boulevard
A walk on sunset boulevard can teach us about transcendental functions associated to Feynman diagrams. On this guided tour we will see multiple polylogarithms, differential equations and elliptic curves. A highlight of the tour will be the generalisation of the polylogarithms to the elliptic setting and the all-order solution for the sunset integral in the equal mass case.

A method of Feynman diagrams summation, based on using Schwinger-Dyson equations and Ward identities, is verified by calculating some four-loop diagrams in N = 1 supersymmetric electrodynamics, regularized by higher derivatives. In particular, for the considered diagrams correctness of an additional identity for Green functions, which is not reduced to the gauge Ward identity, is proved.
